It cost a bit more but I think it will be worth it in the long run. The Samsung was cool looking and less money but we heard stories of breakdowns and unreliability.

- A: AnswerWe love our new fridge. The only couple of deference’s we see are the name brand (Whirlpool versus Maytag) but they are both Whirlpool brands now and the handles. The handles on the Maytag look more high end and industrial to us-see pics. It’s hard to tell from the pics we found for the Whirlpool version but the ice makers might be different too. And yes, we checked and you can definitely open the deli drawer almost completely with the doors ajar at 90 degrees. Happy shopping!

However in our situation the effectiveness of the ice maker far outweighs any loss of interior space due to it being in there. No problems with ice melting and re-freezing, it is located precisely where it is supposed to be!

A great fridge for the money
I looked over review after review, saw nothing but bad out of Samsung and LG - so they were out of contention - Maytag has always had a solid reputation. I looked up the reviews while in the store when we saw this model - it checked off everything we were looking for and a month in it's been the perfect choice for us. Some slight noise running, but nothing you pay attention to after a couple days, ice maker will make noise dumping ice no matter what fridge you choose so no sense mentioning it. A great buy.

Maytag and Best Buy = great
Best Buy is the best. None of these Maytag in stores, but had at their warehouse. Bought online, picked up at warehouse two hours later. Maytag refrigerator very nice. It is a bit noisy, like our 8 year old LG was getting. Hoping won’t get louder. Very spacious even though listed smaller cubic feet than what we had. Wife loves the double doors!

Love
I love my new maytag refrigerator. There's plenty of space to store all of your food and drinks. I was a little hesitant about the freezer being small but it works perfectly. Also, I've read the reviews about the ice maker being noisy and making a mess but I haven't had any issues yet (hopefully I won't). It's only been a week.
